The Compression of Time into a Single Image

When watching a live performance, you can only see one single moment of the performance at a time. The performance as a whole is the combination of a series of these moments. Even watching a recorded playback of the performance you can only see it one frame at a time. But what if an entire series of moments from a performance was compressed into a single frame? What if you could see much of the performance all at once? That’s what this collection of photographs explores.

Read more about the technical details pertaining to this series in the blog here, and then take a moment to watch the video I created to accompany the series here.

This is an ongoing project that began July 32, 2012, at Monday Night Tease! in Los Angeles, California.
