I simultaneously have so much and nothing at all to say about this.

Last night, for example, I spent a few hours at the Hollywood red carpet (which was, in fact, black) event for the new film What to Expect When You’re Expecting. I was there helping one of the BUZZINE shooters get up to speed running camera on carpet events. While there I got to see a few A-list celebs run past, including Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez.

The plan was to interview them while they walked the red carpet, but they spent too much time at the beginning of the line of press and by the time the film was set to begin, they were rushed in by their publicists -- a common problem at red carpet events.

After nearly two years in Los Angeles, and unlike my first few months in town, I can say without a doubt that I have seen a fair number of top-tier celebrities and have even had the chance to meet some of them. It’s been a fun experience and I look forward to more of it. I just need to work on documenting it, if not for your reading pleasure, at least for my own memory’s sake.

Prince Poppycock‘s Poodle @ Victory Variety Hour.

Me, being the helpful guy that I am, turned my bike around and went after the little dog. But alas, the little dog was having none of that! He tried darting into the street, only to be startled back on the sidewalk by massive moving vehicles, darted down an alleyway, down a side street, and finally into fenced area alongside a house. I jumped off my bike and squatted down so as not to see as terrifying as a tall human, but again, he was having none of that. He charged at me, I reached to grab him, he snarled and snapped, and since I like having 10 fingers and no dog diseases, I recoiled and let him run past. Never mind that I didn’t have a leash on me, so even if I did catch an angry little dog, I didn’t have much of a way to hang on to him.

I jumped back on my bike and followed him into a residential neighborhood where I encountered a couple walking their dogs. They loaned me a leash and a granola bar as dog treats and I took off after him again. This time, he’d had quite a head start and I lost him after he turned a block ahead of me.

Someone out there knows what happened to the little dog, but I do not. He’s gone. I didn’t even see his owner when I headed back home down Venice. Not that it would have done any good.

Stop running, little dog, and go home!
