Transforming The World Through Comedy
I had the pleasure last week of photographing and also interviewing a handful of a accomplished comedians at the inaugural Transforming the World through Comedy event at the Hollywood Improv for BUZZINE.
These were the first sit-down interviews I’ve conducted since wrapping It’s All That Glitters late last year, so I was a bit nervous. Not to mention I was sitting down with the likes of the Roastmaster General Jeffrey Ross, podcaster extraordinaire Marc Maron, Wayne Federman, Neal Brennan, and Ben Morrison.
It’s a whole different world conducting interviews vs. running camera on interviews, and while I’m glad I had the opportunity to lead these interviews, there are definitely a few things I wish I could go back and do differently. However, given how harsh some comedians can be, these guys were all great sports and genuinely gracious to me and my fumbles. I’m confident I managed to capture some quality footage that Buzzine will be able to turn into an entertaining and informative video piece. Sometimes it can be difficult to look beyond our own shortcomings to see the success of the bigger picture.
