Not Quite There

But it sure is a step in the right direction.

Just a month over two years ago I started work on All That Glitters. Today I mailed a package to Schiffer Publishing that contains the manuscript and photos for the coffee table book.

Now the real work can begin.

Well, okay, so it’s been real work thus far, but now I get to embark on the new adventure of the editing, layout and design process with the publisher. I’m thrilled by this because it means I get to hear other professional opinions about what the book should look like and feel like. And even just the idea that one day I will have the opportunity to feel this project in my hands and not just see a bunch of words and photos on a screen is very exciting.

I’ll take a few days off this weekend (perfect time for the holiday weekend) at which point my brain will ask: now what are we going to work on? Oh, there are plenty of things awaiting my attention. But for now, I celebrate a little bit and save the huge celebration for when there is a book to share with all of you.
